WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- White boards and markers
DIRECTIONS
For Words:
- Divide students into groups
- Show the slide with the word options and say one of the words aloud 2 or 3 times
- Have each group write which word they heard
- Pronounce both words side-by-side
- Announce which word you said and have groups keep track of their own points
For Sentences:
- Show the slide before the sentence (write the sentence down for yourself somewhere beforehand)
- Read the sentence as fast as you can and progressively slow down as you repeat it
- Repeat at least 3 times, but probably more
- Go over the meaning of the sentence and show students that some words have the exact same pronunciation but are spelled differently
