Country Riddles: Who am I?

A worksheet where students guess which country is being described based on short riddles, word bank included.

This worksheet pairs well with Junior High 二年生 New Crown's theme of Lives Around the World. Ideally, you use this worksheet while students are doing something like conversation tests, because it is pretty independent and doesn't really require the ALT to be in the room. If you are in the room, you can check student answers and give feedback as you walk around!

Students guess which country is being described based on riddles, with the help of a word bank. When finished, they produce their own riddle. This can be done solo, but I think it is better in groups or pairs. If you want higher challenge, make sure students don't use their computer!

In my directions, it reads:
Guess the countries and check your answers with your teacher. Get at least 5 correct to earn a stamp! Get all 10 for a sticker. Keep the answers secret please! Let’s do our best!

Feel free to change these directions if you lack stickers or stamps or human resources to check answers.
