Activity

Practice Comparing:Better and Best

This was a one-off activity I did with my second-grade junior high school students to practice comparitive and superlative speech in a fun way! It follows think-pair-share format!

This lesson follows think-pair-share format in which students write and then discuss about their opinions using comparative and superlative language!

For example:

"Which do you like better fruits or vegetables? Why?"
OO is/are better than OO because________.
Ex: Vegetables are better than fruit because they are cheap.

Using this format students write first, giving them 2-5 minutes depending on their needs, 2 minutes to talk in pairs, and then we called on students using a random number generator to share their dialogue with the class.

The lesson begins with 3 comparative and ends with 4 superlative questions.
