Disclaimer/Credits: I used a couple of slides from @nkeyalt 's Character Names powerpoint, because I loved the name explanation slides! I used a similar layout plus the wheel spinner from @akopoito's guessing game activity.

In the folder:
1) There is a powerpoint guessing game. It has game characters and movies from various things.
2) There is a worksheet that students can fill out afterwards (the sentences are all from the powerpoint).
-The class is split into three teams. 1 team is typically 2 rows in my classes. They don't have to move. It is good to have something for the students to hold when they guess and then pass it to the next person down the row for each question so everyone gets a chance to answer.
-There are slides that ask what it is called in Japanese, but the whole class can answer together "We call it..." (it is not for points, only the questions about English). There are some slides that explain the meaning of the English names too, just for fun.
-The students have to guess what the character or movie is called in English from two choices. But when they answer, they should say "People call it..." (I wrote "We call it ~." and "People call it~" on the blackboard to help them as well.)
-All teams will guess before you reveal the answer, but the wheel at the beginning is just deciding which team guesses first throughout the game.
You can give each team a point on the blackboard when they answer correctly.
-The worksheet is exactly what was in the powerpoint. I didn't actually need it in the end, but it's there just in case.
*Note: I wrote "in America" because that's where I'm from, but you can change it to the UK, Australia, Canada.. or whatever haha
Look great, I love the breakdown of the pokemon names!
Would you mind uploading the worksheet? Many schools do not allow access to Google Drive.
@AVGKF Thank you! I didn't realize that! Okay, it is uploaded!
@celestar129 Coming back `round to say thanks! I used this today and my kids loved it.
I used it as a less of a quiz and more of a presentation (my kiddos are quite low level). They found your "mushroom man" choice to be particularly hilarious.
Thanks for taking the time to put it together!
@AVGKF I'm glad they enjoyed it! My kids had the same reaction hahah
This is great. Thanks very much for sharing it.
My students really enjoyed this! I did change the spelling on the second name for Tom Nook, as the current spelling has been used in the past as a racial slur.
Hahah, I opened this PPT before reading your description and had a funny sense of deja vu for a minute! Looks good, thank you.
