The Kindness Activity

Students will write kind messages to each other on a paper keepsake! I did it at the end of the school year before the break. The JTE loved it so much, she used the lesson for other classes..

This activity was a hit in my elective class. It works really well especially if the students know each other well. The rules are on the slide and are accompanied by a adjective sheet. I went through pronounciation of the words and the JTE provided more of an explanation.

Option 1:
Basically, everyone starts with their own paper with their name on it. Then, students pass it one to the left and have 2-3 minutes to write something kind about the owner of the paper. After the time is up, you pass it again to the left until everyone has written something.

Option 2:
You can change up the rules as well, and have students walk around and write something nice for their friends (especially if the class isn't close), but keep in mind that some students might feel left out if no one writes on their paper.
