*I have had a class play the entire class period, but adjust to what works for your class.
54 cards in total: 27 sentence cards (including the answer in Japanese) and 27 word cards (gerunds and adjectives).
Print and cut out the cards. (You can laminate them if you'd like to/can. I usually don't laminate my cards, but I only have one class I use them in and the kids are fairly gentle with them.)
Separate class into groups of two or more. (I have 7 kids in my class, and they can all play together.)
Mix the cards and place them face down. (To make it a little easier, have a side for sentence cards and one for word cards.)
-Decide which student will go first (by playing rock, scissors, paper etc.)
-Students will take turns flipping two cards to try to make a match (sentence card and word card.) For example: the "...games is fun. (ゲームをすること)" card & the "playing" card are a match.
-If the student finds a match, they keep the matching cards and flip two cards again.
-If the student does not find a match, it moves on to the next student.
-When there are no longer any cards left, have each student count the matches that they got. The student with the most matches wins the game.
Let me know if there is anything that needs adjusting!
This looks great! I can't wait to try it. Could you possibly upload a .docx version, so we could edit it?
Thank you! I've got the .docx version up!
Huge success with all my classes! They ended up using all 45 minutes playing 2 or 3 rounds and absolutely loved it. Thank you for this!
