Jeopardy style Game Show
Materials needed: powerpoint file, TV, whiteboards and markers
Divide the class into groups of 3-4.
You can modify the rules of the game. I choose to give points to all groups (but on a first come first serve basis of points ranking), so that they are all motivated to answer each question, and the fastest one will not monopolize the points.
For example, once they finish answering, they line up at the front with their whiteboards. All those who got the correct answer, will be awarded points based on their order of finishing: 1st - 200, 2nd 150, 3rd 100, 4th 50, and so on.
Categories are a mix of Halloween theme, random trivia about international food, animal facts, inspirational people, and some examples we covered in class, all using Reduced Relative Clauses or Relative Pronouns (who, which).
Difficulty Levels are divided into:
200 - easy Q&A/trivia questions,
400 - translate English sentence to Japanese sentence
600 - make an English sentence using the phrases/words
800 - translate Japanese sentence to English sentence
1000 - create your own sentence using the grammar point
credits to Slide Lizard for the template - you can also download it there and edit (looks so much like the real game show, and with sounds too)
This file is editable.
Some questions and categories may be specific to our class, so please feel free to edit.
Is there anyway you could upload a file with just the questions you used?
Hello! Could you share a Google Drive link to the PowerPoint for those of us who don't have a subscriber account?
