Race to the haunted mansion - Plural verbs

This is a Halloween themed board game to practice plural verbs. All sentences have a verb in parenthesis which the students has to adjust to the correct form when reading it out loud.

Before class prep:
1. Print out and laminate the board games.
2. Get some dice.
3. Get some figurines (in my case I just printed out and laminated some some small Halloween characters).

Activity:
1. Have the students make groups (for my class I made groups of 3-4 students).
2. Have the students choose their order.
3. Give each group a board game, die and figurines.
4. Explain the game play and rules using the ppt.

Gameplay:
The students roll the die and proceed to read the sentence on which they land by adjusting the verb to the correct form. For example, if a student lands on "Dracula (like) the dark" he or she should say "Dracula likes the dark".
The winner is the one who reaches the haunted mansion first.

Rules:
- If they land on a bomb, they have to go back one space.
- If they land on a ladder, they have to move up or down depending on the direction of the arrow.

Notes:
- I used this game with my 1st year JHS students.
- I used some region specific locations in my boards game and my kids loved it, i.e "Frankenstein hides in Takeda castle". So, I encourage anyone to modify the board to include region specifics for your area to make it more fun for the students.
- Before starting the activity make sure the students know the verbs you'll be using and understand the grammar point.
- The long sentences like the one about the Grim Reaper were too difficult for my students.
