My students often get nervous when they have to speak in front of the class, so this pizza maker was made to help them have more fun with it! This is a companion PowerPoint for Activity 2 in the Let's Try 2 textbook. I've also attached the worksheet they used as a guide for their speech.
Directions: (also included in the PPT)
The PowerPoint is very straightforward.
Students can choose between sweet (fruits), savory (vegetables & sausage), or a mix of the two! Then, click on the ingredients on the right to add toppings. Once the student is done ordering, click the green box at the bottom. Click the HOME button to return to the "pizza type" and the RESET ARROW to clear all toppings from the pizza base.
Notes:
The activity can be as long as or as short as you'd like it to be!
So my students could practice, I first had them interview a friend and make their pizza on the worksheet provided. Then, my students presented their friend's pizza in small groups. Near the end of class, I asked for volunteers to present their friend's pizza in front of everyone as I "made" it in the pizza maker. They really liked the added visual aspect!
Anything with Pusheen is an instant win with my classes! They always love seeing this chunky cat haha! Amazing powerpoint and super fun for the kids!
So cute! Great work!
This is wonderful. Thank you.
This is a great activity!
I ended up using JUST the pizza pdf and the students loved it! They really liked me trying (and failing) to draw fruits and vegtables on parfaits and pizzas on the board, and some classes even got super creative giving me other random things (honey, riceballs, mochi, and shrimp were popular but I also got pokemon and characters for the pizza! lol) it was fun to see what they came up with with their partner as well!
@carazoza I'm glad you got some mileage out of the worksheet! It sounded like a lot of fun~
