This powerpoint game is great for using at the end of class after the students have learned their colours, or just as a fun review.
The game works with the class in teams (smaller classes where the students can compete as individuals are also great). One by one, you click on the question mark boxes to reveal a greyscale item underneath. After revealing each object, give the students a chance to guess the color.
I find using whiteboards here works best, especially if they are supposed to be practicing their writing, since it gives all the groups a chance to guess. However, if you are doing this game with classes that can't yet write their colours, you can cut up pieces of coloured paper and give one slip of each colour to every group. Then, when it comes time to guess, have the students raise up the coloured paper they think corresponds to the answer. I used this method at my special needs school and it worked great.
Once the students have correctly guessed the colour, you can click the "What color is it?" text box to reveal the answer. For additional fun, you can click on the "it's [insert color here]" text box to reveal some fun stickers and pop ups. This usually gets a good reaction.
And that's pretty much everything. Have fun!
This is great, just what I needed for my first graders. Thank you!
I love this, what a great PPT!
Amazing review game. Thank you!
Good game, the buttons for revealing the grey images are a bit hard to hit sometimes though and I go to the next slide by mistake.
