Demonstrate with the JTE and maybe one or two student volunteers.
The students make groups, determine their order and play. Roll dice and move their marker around the board. When a student lands on a square the other members of the group must read out the instructions together. That student then follows the instructions.
On the squares where they visit a country I have the students go to a teacher and have a short dialogue 'I will go to America. I will eat hamburgers'. I usually give each group a small passport card. They bring this to the teacher and get it checked each time they have that dialogue.
I've added the same game using 'have to'
Used this today. Haven't heard my second years so lively in a while, despite their big test next week.
Was a really big hit as a review game! Change the international ones to "should" to fit the Here We Go textbook and went smoothly!
