A short bingo game for JHS 1st grade students, where they have to determine whether to use "were you" or "did you" when asking their partner a question.
First, run through the vocabulary on the worksheet, and quiz them on when they should use "were you" instead of "did you", and vice versa.
Next, have them stand up and walk around the classroom, asking their friends a question. If the answer is "yes, I was", then they can write their friends name down. Make sure to reinforce that they should answer in full.
Finally, the students must write two sentences about what their friends did or were.
All in all, the activity shouldn't take longer than 20 minutes.
