This is meant to be a replacement activity for the 4 corners game in New Horizons Elementary 5 Unit 8 (page 76). It's basically just fruits basket / "Change chairs if", except the students say sentences like "I usually do my homework," and anyone who does it at the same frequency gets up and finds a different chair.
Set up:
- Have the students clear the desks / use an empty classroom.
- Pull chairs into a large circle.
- Remove one chair (or have the HRT participate).
Game:
- One student (or the HRT) starts in the middle.
- Pick a daily activity (ex. take out the garbage) and announce it to the circle.
- The student in the middle then says "I (always/usually/sometimes/never) take out the garbage". Any student who does it at the same frequency has to get up and find a different seat.
- The student left who can't find a chair stays in the middle. Pick the next daily activity and repeat.
