Classroom Olympics

I used this material for reviewing my 2nd year students after their JTE's taught them the concepts of Comparatives and Superlatives.

First few slides are base words/adjectives that students can review. Have time to put students in pairs to practice some comparatives and superlatives. In this way, they can help friends who are still confused with the patterns.

After a couple of slides, play the Classroom Olympics.

Ask 2 volunteers to come in front and have them write their names in Japanese. After that, ask the class Who wrote faster? The class should answer together saying the correct sentence pattern E. g. " Ryusei is faster than Emi ".

Followed by a couple more categories where they can compare two classmates and more.

I brought a measuring tape and a digital luggage scale, to measure the tallest, the heaviest, the longest items.
