LET'S EAT CREAM PUFFS!

This is a Mashle-themed worksheet that is quite popular among kids right now. The goal is to 'eat' as many cream puffs as you can until you reach the finish line by talking with your friends.

I made this worksheet for my 3rd grade elementary students with FEELINGS/EMOTIONS as our topic and our target expressions are "Hello. How are you? I'm happy. Thank you, and you?"

WHAT TO DO:
1. This word document has 2 pages, please set your printer to 'print on both sides' so the kids can easily flip the paper.
2. Ask the students to write how they're feeling on the script (back page) in English for a bit of a writing practice. "I'm happy. Etc."
3. Practice the script many times. I included the katakana reading of the English words to guide the students. As you practice, ask the students to erase the katakana reading of those words they can confidently read. Be careful not to erase the English words. It's a good chance for them to realize that their English is actually improving.
4. The students have three missions:
- Write your friend's name below each number.
- Decide who will be A or B and say, "I'm A. I'm B." (without needing to play Rock-Scissors-Paper to save time) and then start the
conversation.
- Pretend to eat the cream puff and cross it out and then find another friend.
5. The ALT and JTE will do a demo. (When my JTE and I did a demo, we exaggerated on pretending to eat the cream puff before crossing it out. The kids loved it so it's fun to see them pretending to eat the cream puffs, too, especially the silly ones. It is important to tell the kids that they have to follow the script before they can 'eat' the cream puffs.

When time isn't enough and you'd like to help the kids get closer to the finish line, you can give out 'free' cream puffs in the middle of the activity.

I also attached the FEELINGS flashcards that I made. I got the pictures from the ones posted by UonumaRobert, thanks a lot. :)

I'm pretty sure everyone's already done with this topic but I think this worksheet is quite flexible and you can use it with any target expressions or grammar points. I hope this still helps. :)
