Inspired by srmaynard44's color-by-shape coloring pages, but I made it themed for summer! I plan on hanging these up in the English room to show the students' work.
It's pretty similar to color-by-number, but each shape gets its own color. It's good listening practice, because the students have to know the name of the shapes, be able to find them (and count them for higher levels), and then color them the correct color you say.
I included a key for the colors I used for this image, but you can change the colors up as you wish.
Some students will color faster than others, so for the ones who finish early, I usually challenge them to create their own creatures using only shapes! I've gotten some really fun ones this way, like a Doraemon-Godzilla hybrid creature using only shapes... so feel free to let the students show their creativity in this way!
I was in a scramble this morning for an activity for my Grade 2 class and this hit the spot perfectly.
Really nice and simple sheet and 10/10 for being a cute picture as well!
