Activity

One Truth; Two Lies

1st Grade Unit 3 activity (What do you~, I like -ing, I want to~)

I used this activity for my 2nd grade students as my JTE asked me to make activites from UNIT 1-8 of the students' first grade English textbook as a review. You can definitely use it for the 1st graders but the additional information (I like - ing, I want to~) would probably be a challenge for them. It's up to you and the JTE to decide if they can already do these. After all, it's one of their grammar lessons.

The lesson consists of:
small talk about your favorite convenience store
sample quiz
worksheet writing
pair share
One Truth Two Lies game

WHY one truth and two lies? Since the goal is for the students to write three choices, one is the truth that tells about what they "usually" do, eat, etc. I think that it's easier for students to decide one "usual" thing they do, than coming up with two and writing only one lie.

For the detailed lesson and worksheet copy, please see attached file.

I did not include the powerpoint but you may make your own using your original examples, or your personal quiz.
