This is a PowerPoint activity for 3rd Grade.
Teacher Supplies: PC
Student Supplies: Paper, Pencil
Game Summary:
There are six rounds to the game. Each round features a time bomb with differently colored wires.
Bombs have 6 wires total. Each wire has a corresponding number.
Every round, show the new bomb to the students and have them say out loud (together) the color of each wire (while you point to the screen)
Then read the "instructions" to the students. When you say a color, they write down what wire number(s) correspond.
After six rounds, check answers together as a class.
FYI - the final slide is for Teachers Only. It's the instructions for which colors to announce each round. Print this page or copy the info down.
PS: The slides begin with a brief (OPTIONAL) story to introduce the idea of disarming bombs by knowing colors.
It features Anya from Spy x Family (a popular anime), which got my students instantly excited / invested in playing.
However, if you or your JTE cannot translate the "story" for students, you can skip this and start by demonstrating the game rules.
Feel free to add more slides or change the colors & answers if you want.
What a super fun idea and game! Thanks so much for sharing it with us all!! :)
