I started by showing my students the full word list, going through one by one and getting my students to guess how they were read. Read them back phoneme by phoneme (e.g. "j-a-m. jam") and have students repeat. In the "challenge" section, there were many that my students were able to read easily, which I read in the same was as easy words, but I stopped to explain the letter combinations (e.g. oo, ee, word-final e, etc.). The bingo itself is straightforward, regular bingo.
Phonics Bingo
A game of bingo to get students used to reading words for the first time. I did it with my 3rd- and 4th-year ES students, but it should work for any level that's first learning to read by sight.
