Really fun game to play with the students. I got this from my JTE and kept it for re-use everyear.
SETUP:
-There is 1 title slide, 1 practice slide and 20 game slides.
-All the game slides have a picture of something that a person MUST or MUSTNT do.
-E.G: you Mustn't swim/ you must study etc.
-There are 2 ways to play this game. Or any other way you can think of. Its a really easy game.
IN PAIRS:
You show the students a slide and in pairs, they have to make a sentance that speaks directly to what the slide is hinting at. Pressing ENTER on the slide will reveal the answer sentance. The students dont work together, rather they compete with eachother. The first student to say the correct sentance will get 1 point. About halfway through the game (slide 10) I ask students how many points they have, counting from 0-10 points and they raise thier hands to indicate thier point count. And then I continue. If everyone is dead silent and waiting for the next slide, then bursts into frantic, noisy english sentances...then you are playing this game correctly ;).
IN ROWS
Put students in equal rows (rows of 6 or Rows of 5 etc). The first student at the front of each row stands up. Once they see the slide and are ready to make a sentance for it, they put up thier hand. The quickest student gets a chance to say the answer. If they are correct then that student sits down and the student behind him/her stands up. Try and give priority to students who have been standing for a long time even if another student is quicker, or help weaker students so that their row gets a chance to compete. Once the last student at the end of the row answers the question, that row wins.
I get stickers from TEMU (usually trending anime characters, or cute pets/emotes etc) and give these out prizes at the end of games. The strongest students can get all the stickers but playing group/row/pair games like this mixes it up. By the end of the term all my students got atleast 1 sticker from me.
