This game is directly inspired by ryninhiroshima's Random Sentence Game, which can be found here: https://www.altopedia.net/activities/5596-random-sentence-game
I wanted to adapt their activity for Passive Voice practice specifically, and this is what I made. I used Canva for all of these materials, and I don't know yet if sharing them will work. Fingers crossed.
What it is:
An activity where students work in teams to create goofy sentences using the passive voice and then illustrate their favorite sentence while their classmates try and guess the sentence. It's effective at reinforcing the meanings of sentences and getting students more familiar with passive phrasing. It's also a fairly quiet activity.
How it works:
Students make groups of 4. One person from each group comes to the front and takes two noun cards and one verb card. They then take those back to their group and work as a team to create a funny sentence. They will write their sentence on the worksheet, then return the cards and pick three more. This continues until each group has four sentences.
Next, each team will pick their favorite sentence and make a drawing of it on the blank side of the worksheet. The teams will display their drawings with the projector one at a time while the rest of the class tries to guess the original sentence.
The entire game can take around 30-45 minutes depending on the class.
I explained the instruction one part at a time, but it might actually help to explain both parts before starting. I think if the students know ahead of time that they will be illustrating their sentences, it might influence how they choose to arrange them.
Detailed instructions for the game are in the slideshow in both English and Japanese. For the cards, I print out the noun cards on pink paper and the verb cards on green paper.
I am still unsure whether having the being verb in parentheses is entirely necessary. I initially did so to eliminate students needing to choose past or present tense and to make students practice using the negative. Feel free to change anything.

Great presentation! On the slide showing the change to Passive voice, there's mistake for "(is) love" to "(isn't) love by" and I think it should be "(is) loved by".
