I was little lost and was struggling to make a speaking activity for this unit.
So, I came up with this Jigsaw puzzle game.
Each student will get a puzzle piece. One piece had a problem and the other piece of puzzle has a solution for the problem.
Sts are divided into two groups. Problem group and the solution group.
Sts do a role play of all becoming robots. once they get their card they all malfuction and will be on a repetative mode.
Sts walk around the class like robots.
Find a pair
St1: Plastic is a big problem.
St2: We can reduce fishing.
(It`s not a match )
Another pair:
St1: Plastic is a big problem
St2: We can use eco friendly bags.
(It`s a match )
Once they find the pair they come to the teacher and recite sentences together.
Hope it make sense.
I think it's a great activity. I'm going to give it a try. Thank you for sharing.
I'm doing something similar for this awful, awful topic. Just my two cents but for hunting I used "reduce hunting" the same way you've done "reduce fishing."
I also included traffic accidents as a problem and "be careful" as a solution because my students keep choosing "let's save the cats" and "let's save the dogs" and my teachers don't seem interested in forcing them to pick an animal that actually needs saving.
