Activity

Who did it? - Mystery Game

The students are given clues to solve who the criminal is.

I introduced the activity by saying that SOMEONE from this group of 6 people stole my cookies. I introduced the characters (I made them in the Sims, but by all means feel free to put different characters in if you want to rework the activity) and gave every student 1-2 clues. There are 7 clues total. With a bigger class you can give each student 1, but smaller classes it will help if they have 2. It does require you to cut these clues into small strips before the period begins. They have to walk around the room and ask each other the questions on their worksheet until they find someone who has the answer to that question. Once they had all the clues, I gave stickers to the first 1-3 students who told me the answer. Then we all sat down and went through each question together and determined who the criminal was (it's Matt, by the way).

When I did this activity with my high schoolers, it was on the tail end of an activity about describing people.
