Part of Let's Try 2 Unit 8, a quick little activity to teach/refresh on the English names for classrooms! This uses my sister's cat, Kiki, as the main character. You're free to create your own little backstory for Kiki if ya want :)
Background: It's dinner time for Kiki. However, you've not given him nearly enough food! (At least for his standards) Outraged, Kiki runs away to the local school to find even more food. By calling out the English names for classrooms, see if Kiki is in that room by clicking the door. If you find Kiki, move on to the next level.
There are 3 levels, all covering all the different classrooms. You could perhaps do this in groups, but I ask children to put their hands up to call out a name.
Firstly, we refresh on all the rooms on the slide, before then letting the students volunteer to pick a room. After the student does, we then all repeat the name, and click the door to reveal if Kiki is in that room. If you want, you could also practice directions here too, though the rooms are pretty basic in terms of layout. You could also ask students if it is their Favourite Place, to practice that phrase too.
It's just a quick fun little warm-up activity I created, as some of these room names are quite long and hard to pronounce, and therefore require a bit more time to practice. Hope you enjoy!
