I start by passing out the print first. I ask the students which characters they know. Most of the students are only familiar with Snoopy, but some of them know Charlie Brown and Belle. I say that we'll learn about all of them today and give each student one card from the second page. Some of the characters like Woodstock might be ambiguous, so you could go over which characters use "him" and which use "her" if you think it's a good idea.
The students should write the information for their character on their sheet. After that, explain that they should find a partner, point to a character on their page that they don't know, and ask "Do you know him?" or "Do you know her?" If their partner knows the character, they should fill them in on the details.
Eventually, the information should flow throughout the class and everyone should have all 10 characters. I tell the students that all of the characters are very well-known in America, and that they can watch the original cartoons on Youtube if they're interested.
cute idea. I had no idea who belle was. I think I'll swap her for the little red head girl charlie brown loves.
