This activity aims to have students review Wh- and How questions through a fun, interactive Powerpoint presentation.
No materials required. Students work in pairs.
The presentation is made into four sections:
Section One: Whose hat is this? (Whose practice)
Taken from here: https://www.altopedia.net/activities/1081-whose-hat-is-this-powerpoint-warm-up-game
Help the police officer find the owner of some missing hats. Uh-oh, where is the owner to the missing bow?
Section Two: Kitty is missing! (Where/what practice)
Go into Kitty's home and investigate.
Section Three: We got some suspects (Who practice)
Meet some of the prime suspects down at the precinct.
Section Four: DK's Crazy Quiz (Wh- and How practice)
Taken from here (mostly): https://www.altopedia.net/activities/1092-general-knowledge-quizzes
If you want Kitty back you gotta solve prime suspect Donkey Kong's Crazy Quiz (or else).
If the above description sounds weird, take a look at the ppt. The students liked it and it provided a lot of practice for these interrogatives. There are some additional quiz questions at the end if you need to kill time.
Thanks to bstokes22 and nachonaz for their contributions. Good luck, have fun.
I like the idea. Looks great! When they are put in pairs do they work together to say the answer? Is it a points thing? Or just simple working together?
I believe for the DK quiz portion we did a points based thing but the pairs just kept track of their own points. The rest of the stuff was just pair-work or group work. You know, "OK, ask your partner blah, blah" then come back as a group for the answers.
Looks like a lot of fun!! :D
