I made this custom warm up, to help students get into English mode.
This PowerPoint can be customized. It includes:
- 2 slides with Feelings to answer, "How are you?"
- 3 slides to introduce day, date, and weather.
- 4 slides with conversation examples that students can follow.
I choose one slide from each category and prepare beforehand. It depends on level and challenge. I use the PowerPoint as a type of guided conversation. I customize according to level and lesson.
Usually, at the beginning of class I will show this power point with one slide from each category. Greeting is done as a class. I will ask who knows the answer to the date and weather questions, then have the class reapeat as a whole. Last, I will have students follow the conversation samples with a partner, switching roles.
