We SHOULD Camp

Student plan a camping trip with their group using should

(I created this for a lesson but wasn't able to use it so I haven't actually been able to work out any kinks and expand on it. Any advice or ideas would be much appreciated! I'll update and move things around as I go.)

Introduce the new vocabulary and anything students might want to add to their lists. A good warm up question might be to ask students if any of them have gone camping or the more lovely glamping. Ideas like 'sofa' can totally be encouraged.

The power point is a good visual to work together with the JTE about how to suggest should and shouldn't as well as the more important necessities with 'have to'. Each person in the student's group can be tasked with bringing certain items but the limit is three so that there can be more team building.

There are sentences to provide support for discussions (and writing full sentences in a short time) as they choose which items they want to bring on their camping trip.

I changed it to "we SHOULD Ski" since my students are going on a ski trip! I also added COULD for the high schoolers! Great slides

I got a specific request to prepare an activity for the auxiliary verb "should". So far, this has been the only activity on the site that focuses on it. Thank you!

I have just posted my own version of this activity that you'll note is heavily - if not entirely - based on this activity here. Thank you for your ideas!
