UPDATE 2022
I recently updated the world quiz.
There are three parts.
PART ONE QUIZ
There are four questions. These can be done either as a class quickly or in groups.
PART TWO TALKING RACE
This is a pair activity. Set a time limit of 2-3 minutes. The pairs do rock scissors paper and the winner advances. The winner asks the question and the loser answers. On the slide if you click forward once you'll see two game pieces. You can click on them to demonstrate. They will move around the race track. If you click forward a second time the answer pattern appears.
PART THREE WRITING
I have the students do this on their own generally. Write four sentences giving a detailed answer and then bring that to a teacher. They should read it out and the teacher should comment and ask one or two simple connecting questions. If they have time they should try to complete another set then. I usually reward stickers for completing one or two questions depending on the time.
NOTE
The Canada quiz is prepared for 'Indirect Questions' but I think it can be modified fairly easily.

All the answers are based on internet searches with top ten lists. In some cases I checked a couple of lists and made a guess.
