This game pits teacher against student!
There are 3 main rounds and 2 bonus ones. A student raises their hand and chooses a fruit, then you click on it to check if there is a “typhoon” (bakudan) underneath. If not, the students get 1 point. Once they reach 5 points they win the round. However, if they choose a fruit with the typhoon, the teacher wins! Use the SPACE BAR to advance to the next round.
Bonus levels: There are 3 hidden cakes. It’s up to you to decide how many need to be found to win the round!
This game works best with small to medium-sized classes.
There are 12 fruits to choose from: watermelon, grapes, apple, pineapple, peach, strawberry, orange, banana, lemon, melon, kiwi, and mango.
Notes:
- The kids enjoyed doing a 3-2-1 countdown right before a reveal. When it was a safe card, I would always say "SAFE" like a baseball referee.
- Once they win a round, if there's time, you can ask where they think the bomb is. This gives more students a chance to participate and practice vocabulary!
- For those unfamiliar with this game, there's a low-tech way to play it using flashcards and a blackboard.
Love the sound effect
Thank you! I love sprinkling them into my PPTs!
Fun activity!
The idea to have students vs the teacher is perfect for my mixed special needs where teams/groups is a bit difficult~
Love this
