Describe the Room Blindfold Game

Students assemble a room of objects while the teacher (or partner) isn't looking and must instruct how to arrange them

This is a version of the "you describe a room to me and I draw it" game that's common when learning prepositions.

You can have students work in pairs with tablets or as a whole class. I like to play as a whole class, but not all students will participate if you do it that way.

I created a room with several objects on Google Slides that can be moved around. I intruct the students that they will have to arrange the objects however they want and then I leave the room while they do so. The JTE helps guide them to place the objects (they can say in Japanese if they like). When they're satisfied with the placements, I come back into the room.

The students use English to explain where certain objects are. You can use in ES (Where is the ball? It's on the bed) or JHS (There are three pictures on the wall by the door) etc. The ALT then draws the room on the board according to their instructions. I'm not good at drawing, which makes it funnier for the students.

The kids have fun playing this game and putting the objects in weird places, for example stacking everything on top of each other. I hope you enjoy!

Here's the Google Slides link: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1-l336H1JrZJw1SUl9zjq50d8YFTxi33ctVcgj2ivZMs/edit#slide=id.p

I believe you can save a new copy to your Drive or create a PPT with it. Good luck!
