This is a PowerPoint to support a color scavenger hunt game in class where students listen for a color to be shouted and then race to bring you an object of that color.
First, I split my class into groups of four and gave them a group name (we picked animals). I then numbered within the group from No.1 to No.4. To explain how a color hunt works, I found it best to demonstrate with the HRT with me shouting out a color and the HRT demonstrating finding an object of that color and bringing it to me. I than ran through the PowerPoint letting it pick what color they would need to bring to me. So, every student had a chance to take part, I had each round be a different numbered student e.g. No.1s one first, then No.2
s and so on. I scored the students based on who was fastest to bring me a colored object. Top tip! When the students come to you, they tend to congregate in a crowd, so my HRT suggest they make a line from fastest to slowest leading away from me. This really helped with scoring too. I would also suggest moving around the class, so you are not always closest to one specific group. My HRT was very adamant about banning colored pencils as they said it was too easy!
For older students and for added difficulty, I changed the colors on the PowerPoint to vocabulary and added a countdown timer.
I was going to play this exact game with my students so thanks for making a powerpoint for it!
