Activity

"Who are you?" Pictionary

A fun way to get creative 3rd years involved in Unit 9 for Let's Try 1

I don't know about y'all, but my students love art and drawing. This is a way I've found to get the whole class involved in the Unit 9 lessons. This activity is great for filling extra time at the end of class, but can also stretch across most of the period if needed, since it is great practice.

1.) Find a volunteer, or pick a student if they are shy (can also demonstrate with JTE)
2.) When they come to the front of the room, tell them to draw anything they want (school-appropriate, of course)
3.) Before they start, have the rest of the class ask them "Who are you?"
4.) Student starts drawing on the board
5.) From here, the other students will raise their hands to ask, "are you a (insert guess here)?"
6.) The student drawing will give the appropriate "Yes, I am/No I'm not" response
7.) Keep going until someone gets it right, then swap artists

You can either do this casually or use a points/team-based system if your kids are competitive.
