This is a worksheet I made to help my students with the textbook activities. They're basically making a memo.
Give the students a worksheet and go through the model together, one question a time. First, we practiced the question and then I answered "I like miso soup." I ask the HRT and some volunteers what they liked. I gave them two minutes to draw or write a food (or two foods) that they like. I followed the same procedure for sports. I let the students draw other foods and sports that weren't shown on the slides. At least two of my boys drew a judo uniform and a few girls wrote the katakana for dancing (just examples I saw in the classroom).
For color, I gave the students 1 minute to make circles using their colored pencils.
The whole process took about 10 minutes for the worksheet. Then I let the students use these worksheets as memos for their textbook activity. I think it really helped them out. I'd give the students at least 5 minutes to talk, but you can stretch it out to 7 if they need extra time.
Perfect!! I was suddenly asked to teach 4th grade tomorrow so this really helps, but is there supposed to be a worksheet attached to this? There are two powerpoint files so perhaps you uploaded the same file twice?
Hey. Sorry about the missing worksheet. It should be fixed now. I hope the model and explanation at least helped you with your class.
