Have To / Must Board Game

Simple board game using Have to / Must and its negatives

This is just a standard board game for students to come up with their own answers for the tasks on the board.

Have the students make groups of 4-5 depending on the size of your class.
When a player lands on a square, they must name something related to where they land.

The boxes on the board are color coded:
Orange box is MUST
Yellow box is MUST NOT
Blue box is HAVE TO
Green box is DON’T HAVE TO

Most of the time, the students will restart the game on their own if they finish mid-class.
It might be a good idea to change up groups after they finish a round.

Just print the board and laminate
I've included the powerpoint file, so feel free to change to change anything on the board as needed.

The doc file has the color codes and all the tasks grouped by grammar point.
I would highly recommend practicing the ones with new vocabulary or the harder ones but also doing a practice of one of each of the grammar points.
In case you feel that one might be too difficult you can always change the board up.

A fun spin on this game that the JTE did was implement a "just" dice roll rule. This can make it so that if a player is 1 away from goal but they roll a 5, they'll land on "go back to start".

Eventually, the students will stop playing the game as intended and just roll to move on the board unless you're standing right next to them. However, they will be having alot of fun just moving around the board and risking getting sent back to the start.
