Activity

I have... Who has...

A simple reading warm up activity searching for the next card. Uses colors and shapes.

This is a simple warm up game.

There are 36 cards total and you need to use all of them - so if you have less than 36 people, then elect some lucky winners to get 2 cards!
*Printed as A4. I did laminate the cards to make them last longer.

How to

Everyone gets one card and stands up.
Randomly choose someone to be the first reader (or have a card yourself and start it).
**It's important to note that the first reader will be the last reader as well.

Read your card. Every card says
"I have a ~ " "Who has a ~ "

Ex: "I have a blue triangle. Who has an orange cross?"

Whoever has the card with the orange cross will then read their card.
"I have an orange cross. Who has a purple circle?"
And then they can sit down.
Then the person with the purple circle card will read their card and sit down.
This continues until everyone has read their card and it's made it back to the first reader!

The first time or two will be a little slow but it's easy to understand once they get through the first few cards.
This worked out really well with my JHS 1st graders. They were excited to see who was the last one standing.
