It's a fun game, but it requires a little bit of prep.
First, teacher sends the PowerPoint file to all the students' PCs.
Students open the file and the PowerPoint will run automatically.
Click "ESC" to turn it off.
Game procedure.
When the students "start the presentation" a slide with colors is going to appear.
Every student chooses 3 colors by clicking on the top of the colors they want. (each color they chose represents one life).
A blue box is going to appear around the colors they chose.
(If they accidentally chose a different color from what they originally intended, they can press the ESC botton and open the file again to start over).
Teacher's prep.
The teacher uploads the color images to the "Wheel Generator" and display it on the big screen in front of the class.
(There is a link below for the "Wheel Image Generator")
https://pickerwheel.com/tools/random-image-generator/
After it's all set, all the students stand up.
Then they chant; "What color, what color, what color do you like?" while the wheel is spinning.
If the wheel lands in a color that a student chose, the student has to click on that color and the color will disapear. (He or she has lost one life).
If students lose all their lives, they have to sit down and they are out of the game.
Students who remain standing until the end are the winners.
(Obs: You can decide how many times you're going to spin the wheel. You could spin it only 5 times or you could spin it until there is only one color left).
I called it "life game" because it seems like on the video games when you have a certain numbers of lives or hearts, and if you lose all the lives or hearts you have to start over. But if you feel unconfortable calling it "life game" you can called it "lucky game" instead.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful activity, my 3rd grade student just loved it. I want to use this type of activity for grade 4, I am unable to edit the ppt as it is locked.
