- Print out cards for the game!
- Separate students into groups of four
- Show them the PowerPoint to explain the game
- Play!
Game Explanation:
In a group of four, three cards are the same and one slightly different card. For example, three students have dog cards and one student has a (spy) cat card. The spy will know that their card is different but not know how the card is different. Each student takes a turn describing what's on their card without saying what the card is. For example: "It is cute", "It has big ears", "It is brown" etc... But that cannot say what is on the card, only describe it. After each person takes a turn, they guess who the spy is. If they guess correctly, they can get the next group of cards. If they don't guess correctly, they keep going until they can figure out who the spy is.
Note:
*I put the group of cards in plastic bags and got students to raise their hands once they needed a new batch of cards to keep things organized! I also made me and my JTE personally handed out the cards to ensure nobody accidentally saw who that spy was.

I know you got the idea from Fakin' It, but this is still a really fun twist to the typical description games! It's a similar concept to games my students have done before but with a new fun goal. I've already done "Guess Who" and "Taboo" for a few classes and now I don't have to scratch my head over what to do next. I love this! Thank you!
Thanks so much for making this activity! I always thought it would be fun to do a Jackbox game in class or English club, so this is absolutely perfect :)
I made one basically like this, but for "Spyfall", for my (pretty high level) SHS classes. This is much prettier though - I may re-style mine!
WOW. What a nice and detailed explanation PowerPoint! Serious quality there. Can't wait to try this with my visit school classes this week!!!
This was super fun! It worked well for my high energy HS 2nd years, and I think it will be even better with my slightly better behaved classes, haha. Thanks for putting this together, it was so quick and easy to set up before class!
