Activity

Do you~? Fruit basket

Students practice speaking with the fruit basket game.

I have a similar grammar point using this game : https://www.altopedia.net/pending_activities/4512-which-is-better-small-talk-fruit-basket-activity

Whole lesson idea:

♢【small talk】
♢𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰: Weekend plans.

I start by talking about my weekend plans. I usually show them pictures on the screen to keep them interested. (this is optional)
I try to connect the small talk at some point with the grammar point that I will introduce on the lesson. I try to make a conversation with the JTE.

Example:
ATE: I went to disney land on the weekend it was very fun... I did blablabla. Mr. Yamato do you like disneyland?
JTE: Yes, I do! / No, I don't.

Then just follow the flow of the conversation using the grammar point. The students will get the idea. You can keep giving input if you'd like.

♢【Fruit basket】
I will attach a powerpoint with some questions.

Students make a space in the center of the classroom and seat in a circle.
Start the game with the JTE.
𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲
AET: Do you like apples?
JTE : Yes, I do

Students who agree find a new seat. Students who don't agree stay in the same seat. A new student stands in the center and answer the next question.

𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞: If no one agrees, then the same student in the center has to answer the next question. If you notice that students are not moving seats so they don't have to stand in the center tell EVERYONE to find a new seat.
