Students will choose what they want to do out of 3 options per destination.
After the students choose their activity, have them write a proper sentence in their notebooks with their chosen activity, using the provided scaffolding from the slides. "I want to ___________."
I assigned a point value for each choice arbitrarily so there is some competitive fun for the kids. The kids that happened to pick the activity with the higher point value will just end up with higher points. Depending on class size, have the students individually keep track of their own scores.
Show the correct sentences and do a call and response: "What do you want to do?" "I want to ___."
Anyone who wrote the sentences correctly can add 5 points to their total. Since there are other correct ways to write the sentences than the sentences I provided, I would announce that anyone who thinks they have a correct sentence but used different words can raise their hands and I can go check right before we do the final points tally.
Hand the students with the highest 3 scores some stickers if you have any!
I personally used this for my special education class so I cut out the writing out of the activity as some of my kids are dyslexic and the point of this activity for us was to provide a fun break from textbook time.
