The ACE Challenge is an accronym I made up to encourage students to (A)sk questions (C)hallenge themselves and (E)njoy English class. I also added this as a part of their self-assessment/self-reflection cards to make it easier to evaluate themselves (also attached).
Examples of how these can manifest in the classroom are:
(A)sking daily questions about the weather, their feelings, etc. as well as asking for help from a peer or teacher.
(C)hallenging themselves to read the subtitles while singing along, trying to spell a new word, double checking their work, raising their hand to answer.
(E)njoying English class by engaging in pair activites, being a good team mate, singing with their best voice and NOT coming in with a negative attitude.
As written on the self reflection card:
今日は：
何について話し合えましたか？(What did you talk about today?)
何にチャレンジしましたか？(What did you challenge yourself on today?)
何を楽しみましたか？(What did you enjoy today?)
I have used this as a self evaluation technique for over 3 years and it has helped create a really positive learning environment.

I have a similar sheet I use for my students and for 5th and 6th grade we added a place for them to write words they learned that day as well. It is a great way to know what the kids liked and what the struggle with.
