To open the file you might have to click on "Enable Editing" and "Enable Contents" to allow the program to run. In Japanese they're called "編集を有効にする(E)" and "コンテンツ有効化". (They're the yellow bars that pops up when you open the file for the first time).
After inserting the students' names into the list, the teacher should save the file, and then send the file to the students. (Please tell the students to click on "Enable Editing" and Enable Contents")
How to use it?
It’s pretty straight forward.
Just tell your students to interview their friends
Ex: Hello! I'm Emily
Hi I''m Takeru.
Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you, too.
After having the conversation, students click on their friends' names. The color will change from “Red”(I haven't talk to this person yet) to “Blue” (I've already talked to this person).
That's it.
I don't know if it's helpful, but feel free to use it.
Thank you for this! Could you please tell me how to enable editing and contents in detail? Where are exactly those options? I opened it on my laptop with openoffice but can`t find anything.. Does this work only with microsoft office? If yes, where are those options exactly located? Thank you.
Regarding the Let's Try textbook itself, did they renew it this year or is it still the same? Thank you.
@Mike248, I'm sorry but I've never used openoffice before so I'm not sure if it will work on it. But if you try to open the file using microsoft office it might ask you to "enable contents". It's a yellow messege box with a white button just under the eding part of exel. You might need to click on the white box once or twice to allow contents for you to be able to use it. Now about the textbooks, in my city we are still using let's try 1 and 2 for grades 3 and 4. Grade 5 textbook changed from New Horizon 5 to Here We Go 5. Grade 6 is still using the New Horizon 6 textbook but they might change next year to Here We Go 6 I suppose.
Thanks for letting me know! I
ll try to do it with my school tablet. Speaking of Let
s try, it seems that they haven`t changed them. However, they renewed the New Horizon 5 and 6 this year. I hope that someone will put activities for those new textbooks as they differ than the previous revision.
