Mashle & Satoshi Introduction

Desk work: This is an A4 sized worksheet that you cut in half to save paper. The characters are Mashle and Satoshi from Pokemon (along with Pikachu). This was a hit with my 3rd graders.

  1. Print extras for yourself and the HRT.
  2. Demonstrate in front of the class by reading the text along with the class.
  3. ALT: Make up Mashle's voice and read his greeting. Then read your greeting, pick up a pen (show the class), and write your name in English.
  4. Repeat #3 with Satoshi's part, but HRT writes their name down.
  5. Raise a pencil up to show them to get ready. Once everyone shows theirs, say, "GO!!"

Class works on it for 3-5mins

  1. Pick two people to present theirs (Mashle and Satoshi each)

  1. Clap for each person

Edit May 8th, 2024: I've added a Unit 2 - How are You? version. This one has Anya and Marukochan. Again, my third graders ate it up!
