I decided to make a monthly newsletter for each grade (using New Horizon), employing grammar from what unit (I hope) we're studying that month. This isn't homework or an in-class activity (though it can be if you want). Students are meant to do it on their own time if they want to. Trying to make English more fun lol.
If students complete the questions and quiz, then they can receive a sticker from me to go on their sticker page I've also included (just cut the sheet in half, students only need one). I printed a newsletter for each student as well. This includes information about me so it's not really usable for you but it's a good template. I used canva to create them. Here's a link to a shared version of it: https://www.canva.com/design/DAGFXCHuO90/I0aYN0nuvs5I1Wf55_gxjA/edit?utm_content=DAGFXCHuO90&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=sharebutton.
I think you can copy it to your own account and then edit it as you see fit.
I emphasized to the students that they can bring them to me at any point in the year, completed, and I would give them stickers (assuming the answers were correct). Here is a canva link to a slideshow I made to explain it to the students (using the 3rd graders worksheet, I didn't do this for the other grades): https://www.canva.com/design/DAGEg82jS_4/4s2R8n1AK1AqSSEgHHaWww/edit?utm_content=DAGEg82jS_4&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=sharebutton.
The monthly horoscope is just silly and for fun. I am going to try to work on May's soon and hopefully I can make it more easily digestible... it's a lot of text. Overall teachers were delighted with the activity and I've already had some students complete it and bring it to me. I also printed them out in color and put them on English board if the school has one.
This is really good, and the horoscope section is a genius idea :) New Alt here so I'm trying to find interesting ideas to introduce to my schools. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you for these! Would it be possible to upload the word format of these files?
Because I used canva, there is no word format unfortunately. The best I can do is share the canva link, and you can edit it to suit your needs. https://www.canva.com/design/DAGFXCHuO90/I0aYN0nuvs5I1Wf55_gxjA/edit?utm_content=DAGFXCHuO90&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=sharebutton
