Objective:
Students to practice forming the grammar point and practice the New Words from the unit.
Set up:
Split the class into groups. Give each group a whiteboard and pen. Tell them they need to swap writer every round.
The 'Answer Sheet' file is for you to use when checking their answers.
Method:
Go through the PPT, explaining how to play. There's a practice question using the key sentence, to help show the students how it works.
They must use the words to make a sentence. Write the numbers in order.
1st correct answer gets 2 points, after this, other correct answers get 1 point.
Before revealing the correct answer, get the fastest team to read out the full correct sentence.
After each question there is a bonus question (単語バラバラ), they have 30 seconds to answer and any team that gets it correct in this time gets 1 point.
I also included a tie breaker question at the end, if you need it. You can click on the star on the left hand side (on the bonus slides) to take you straight to it.
If you don't, you can click on the star on the right hand side (on the bonus slides) to take you straight to the end.
This activity is based on Kirstine Ann's 'Shuffle Game' format. I changed the activity to fit this specific grammar point and the New Words from the New Horizon 3 textbook.
((For formatting, I use: 'Antique Olive Compact' or 'Segoe UI Black' for titles, and 'UD デジタル UK-R' for body text.))
Awesome!! Thank you so much! :D
Life saver. It is a simple yet good activity!
Simple. Easy to execute. Thanks.
