Objective:
Be the first person to make it around the board by correctly completing the sentences.
Set up:
Put class into groups and print enough boards for one per group (laminating optional) + one dice per group.
(Don't print the second page!)
Method:
Ask: 'Do you have an eraser?', then get students to put their eraser on Start (to use as counters).
Explain the rules.
Roll the dice and move the number of spaces. Complete the sentence you land on.
If you answer correctly, you can stay on the space.
If you answer incorrectly, go back to the Start!
For example:
- O = 'She knows that dogs are cute.'
- X = 'She knows becuase dogs are cute.'
Same applies for the 訳 spaces - incorrect, go back to Start!
Play janken to start!
If they finish quickly, they can either play again, or I usually have a Unit word search on hand for them.
Make sure they're actually saying correct sentences. I had some students saying things like: 'Doraemon thinks that he like dorayaki.'
They usually have a lot of fun trying to get the exact number they need to finish, which ends up with them answering a lot of questions!
((For formatting, I use: 'Antique Olive Compact' or 'Segoe UI Black' for titles, and 'UD デジタル UK-R' for body text.))
