Set the scene: there are 4 suspects who were Tom`s friends. Rikuto, Shun, Karen and Hana. Tom, the exchange student, was killed that morning on the school grounds by one of them.
Students make groups and they number themselves in order. Number 1 comes to you for the first sentence as many times as it takes to write down what they heard.
After writing the sentence and its translation, they check with a teacher and the next person can go.
After unfolding the story and the suspects alibis, students begin to piece together the mystery killer.
- Students loved this activity because they were determined to get justice for Tom.
- The themes of dating and unrequited love got students excited and more invested into the story.
- The English is pretty high level. For lower level classes, just cut out unnecessary parts and simplify the English.

I once did an acvity like this and the JTE put himself as the killed person lol it was very funny but I like the idea of a lovers quril more. Great idea!
