Activity

Easter Treasure Hunt

Students work together to find cut out eggs around the classroom.

My students all said this was their favourite memory from all my classes, so it inspired me to share it. My teacher doesnt really care what I do for my lessons as long as its related to English, so I wanted to do a fun, original activity related to Easter. I luckily have my own separate English class so students didnt see the prep. You need to hide the eggs while the students are in PE or using another classroom.

  1. Before the students get to their classroom, hide around 50 cut out eggs around the classroom, some in plain sight, others in harder places like under their desks, chairs, windows, behind the tv, under the bin, under the timer, under the chalk eraser, on your back etc. I did this with blu tack.

  2. Introduce Easter holiday and its traditions in your country. I did this with the ppt.

  3. Explain the treasure hunt activity. Students make their order in their groups and one by one, find eggs around the class. Once one finds an egg, they come to me, answer an english question then stick their egg on their team`s section on the board.

  4. Students swich roles in their team and keep going until all the eggs have been found. Count the final amount and give the winners a prize.
