Stationery Battle

4th Grade Students use the phrase "do you have a ___?" to find someone with the same card as them to battle. They play janken and the winner takes both of the cards in question.

Preparation: I printed out, cut, and laminated 6 sets of cards to use for multiple classes.

Setup: Teacher gives each student 2 different cards.

Play: Students go around and ask each other "Do you have a ___?". When they find someone with the same card, they both set the card down, play janken and the winner takes both cards. When a student completes a set(3 or 4 cards, determined beforehand), they report to the teacher "I have 4 pencils" "I have 3 staplers" etc and they get points.

*When kids run out of cards, they will come to the teacher for a restock.

Goal: To complete a set of cards and report to the teacher using the lesson phrases.

The kids go crazy for this, so it gets wild when they're all trying to turn in their cards for points and asking for more cards. This was originally for one of my unruly classes, but they all loved it.

*I used different colors for some items based on how difficult they were to hear or pronounce, so that can be used for point multipliers or something if you want to change it up.

These cards can also be used for second graders playing Stationery basket! (Fruits basket)
