As mentioned, there are 2 posters with 10 people speaking English, that are from Japan or South Korea.
- One from South Korea and one from Japan are beatboxers, but the songs they beatbox and sing are in English.
- Then a video from South Korean YouTubers doing a "social experiment" to see how many students at Seoul's top University can actually speak English.
- One video of a YouTuber that was born in Japan, but is half-African American and half-Japanese, doing a "social experiment" at Tokyo's top
- University to see how many of the students can speak English.
- Two videos of the stars of ShÅgun accepting their Emmy awards, in English.
- A guy from Japan speaking about 7 languages in the video (he speaks 13 actually) and one of them is English.
- A Japanese-American student living in South Africa (my home country and that's why it is included) about the culture shocks she experienced.
- And then two videos about baseball players (Ohtani and Kawasaki) speaking English - or trying their best to.
The posters have some English info but have QR codes that link to the videos on YouTube. My school only allows tablets, and thus the posters specify that the learners may only use their tablets.
I know the majority of my kids do not look at the QR codes but I do hope that at least 1 or 2 does, and that's all that matters. I chose to do this for my English Board so that the learners are exposed to other people that look and sound like them, speaking English, that is not just their teachers.
